National Vocal Music Competition in honour of Dr. Prabha Atre
on the
eve of her 75th birth year and her contribution to Indian music

We
are happy to inform you that on 13th September 2007, Dr. Prabha Atre
the renowned Hindustani classical vocalist, who has been honoured with the
distinguished national awards Padmashree, Padmabhushan, Kalidas Samman and
Sangeet Natak Akademi award turned 75.
Dr. Prabha Atre is hailed as a brilliant thinker, performer, composer,
academician, author, poet and guru and has been performing for more than
last 55 years making Indian music popular the world over. She is the most admired maestro amongst
laymen, music lovers and connoisseurs alike.
Celebrating
this joyous occasion, honouring Dr. Atre for her contributions to Indian Music,
Swaramayee Gurukul, Pune is organizing a National Vocal Music competition based
on the bandishs composed by Dr. Atre.
Sent along with is the relevant information – Application Form and Rules
and Regulations (soft copies sent as attachments) governing the competition and
the sources of getting bandish books of Dr. Prabha Atre.
Kindly
inform your worthy students to participate in the event. Xerox of the application form can be used to
apply, if need be. We seek your
